Gate Valve also known as ‘Knife Valves’ or ‘Slide Valves’ are linear motion valves in
which a flat closure element slides into the flow stream to provide shut-off. The gate valves minimize the
pressure drop across the valves in the fully opened position and it completely stops the flow of the liquid.
The advantage of the gate valves and the knife valves is that their application in slurries allows the gates
to cut right through the slurry.
The Gate Valve is closed by a flat face, vertical disc, or gate that slides down through the valve to block
the flow. It provides optimum performance in conditions where high flow efficiency, tight shut off and long
service is required. It is idyllic for diverse industries including chemical pulp and paper power and
wasterwater
